Prospect Park police had gotten several complaints regarding activities at Moe's Smoke Shop on North 6th Street, particularly selling restricted products to underage customers, they said in a press release.

Aluwyn Gomez-Amarante, an employee at the shop, was charged with one count of selling a flavored vape e-cig to an officer under 21 years old following an investigation that concluded on Wednesday, Oct. 16, police said.

Gomez-Amarante was charged on a complaint summons and released pending court.

A law banning the sale of all flavored vape products, including menthol, went into effect in New Jersey in April 2020.
